Fefu and Her Friends
Directed by Tatou Dede
Lead Design by Ellen McCartney
Written in 1977 by Cuban-American playwright María Irene Fornés, Fefu and Her Friends is very notable for it’s use of an entirely female cast and unique staging. Taking place over one afternoon in a New England home (usually set in 1935, though our production was set in 1977), a group of 8 women tackle various issues between themselves and the outside world as the audience cycles through various rooms in Fefu’s home. This play was a unique experience that taught me so much, especially getting to work with a designer like Ellen McCartney. This was a project I really enjoyed working on, and I’m so proud to have worked on it with the exceptional team we had.
