Accidental Death of an Anarchist
Directed by Daniel Passer
Lead Design by Arthur Siprut
Written by the prolific Italian playwright Dario Fo in 1970, Accidental Death of an Anarchist is a hysterical comedy lampooning the resurgence of Italian fascism in the 60s and 70s. Based on Piazza Fontana bombing and the subsequent death of railroad worker and anarchist Giuseppe Pinelli while in police custody, this play satirizes the abuse of power governments often exert in order to maintain right-wing totalitarianism. Having previously been a lead Clown and Comedy Conceptor for Cirque du Soleil, Passer imbues the spirit of clowning and commedia dell'arte in this show for a wickedly funny experience.
