Apocalypse at the Rainforest Cafe is a play that lives on in infamy at CalArts. Originally staged at the CalArts Coffeehouse Theater is February of 2022 and revised for the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June, this show is as chaotic as it is enjoyable. Featuring puppetry, practical gore affects and projections, it’s the most wildly creative production I’ve had the privilege to work on. This story about the animatronics at the Rainforest Cafe in the Mall of America has divided the CalArts audience and brought us together as a creative community.
