When Five Years Pass
Directed by Kalean Ung
Written by Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca in 1931, When Five Years Pass (in Spanish: Así que pasen cinco años) is a deeply personal surrealist play, inspired by the work of his friends Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel and was written during his stay in New York. This play deals with themes of self expression, yearning sexuality and identity, described by Lorca as an impossible comedy in three acts and five scenes.
“It is a mystery, within the characteristics of this genre, a mystery about time, written in prose and verse.”
