Lia Tsur is an Israeli born British-American costume designer based out of the LA Area. She’s currently pursuing a BFA in Experience Design and Production with a concentration on Costume Design at the California Institute of the Arts.
And always looking for work.
Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, her family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013 and has lived in California since. Coming from a family of Bahraini and Iraqi heritage, sewing has always been in her veins. Raised in a family where sewing and creating was a love language of it’s own, it was only natural that they’d start designing at some point.
In 2019, Lia started attending Freestyle Academy in Mountain View, California, a program that allows high schoolers in the district to participate in a part-time arts program. There, they began a filmmaking program and started exploring their creativity in a film medium. After doing costumes and makeup for their junior year thesis film Creek, they decided to pursue costume design as a proper career.
